Biographie
Tetchena Bellange
Born in Montreal, Tetchena Bellange graduaded in Cinema at the University of Montreal, and has a Major in Marketing and International Business from the Business School Hautes Études Commerciales. In 2010, she directed for the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) “Doctors without residencies”, which explores the mechanism that keeps a lot of foreign–trained doctors from working in the country, despite the critical shortage of doctors. This film was very popular, and became the #1 film on the NFB's website for several weeks. Tetchena has just finished her new documentary called “Black Hands– Trial of the arsonist slave”. This film was done with the participation of the Société de Développement des Entreprises Culturelles du Québec (SODEC), the National Film Board of Canada, in collaboration with the broadcasters Reseau De l'Information (RDI) and the Société Radio–Canada. “Black Hands” has been selected in the prestigious World Film Festival of Montreal in August 2010. Before all this, Tetchena has also written and directed a few films that toured film festivals, including Échos (nominated for Best Film at the Niagara Falls film festival in 2004, Picture This Festival in 2005). She is currently working on a documentary that she developed with broadcaster CBC and the Canada Council for the Arts. Furthermore, Tetchena is an actress and has played in several productions.
