Alain, a stressed-out businessman is always in a hurry. There is no room for fun or family in his life. One day he suffers a stroke and loses his ability to speak. At the hospital, Jeanne, a young speech therapist, takes charge of his case and begins teaching him both language and patience. Alain eventually realizes that certain aspects of his life that he had previously ignored are still possible: the simple pleasures of life and reconciliation with his daughter.
