Michel Ocelot

Born on the Riviera, Michel Ocelot has lived his childhood in Guinea, his adolescence in Anjou, before settling in Paris.

Michel Ocelot has dedicated his entire career in film animation. Among his short films, he designed, “The three Inventors”, (1980 Bafta for Best Animated Film, London) which will be followed by The Legend of Poor Hunchback (1983 César for best short animated film, Paris).
In 1998, the public discovers Michel Ocelot, thanks to the huge public success of his first feature film “Kirikou and the Sorceress”. Then come “Princes and Princesses”, old tales in silhouette and “Kirikou and the Wild Beasts,” co-directed with Bénédicte Galup.
“Azur and Asmar” (2006), his 4th feature film in digital 3D, is still a fairy tale, from one shore to another in the Mediterranean.
In 2008 is released a DVD of all his short films, “The Hidden Treasures of Michel Ocelot”, his life before Kirikou...
His latest project, Dragons and Princesses is a return to short films, a new collection of stories in silhouette for television and film.
