Biographie

Alain Fournier

Alain Fournier is particularly interested with the fantasy genre, in which the atmospheres are always a strong feature. His first short film Of Mother and Tides (À Mères et Marées) won several awards (Fantasia, Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Festival Off–court Trouville–sur–Mer). Then he directed two short films with puppets : ÖKO (nominated for the 2010 Jutra Award (Quebec, Canada) for Best Animation) and InnerCity (La Cité entre les Murs), recently released. The weight of emptiness (Le Poids du vide) is a supernatural drama, his fetish genre. Alain Fournier is currently developping his feature film project.

About the festival

A true celebration of cinema and all its forms of expression, the Festival welcomes over 100 productions from some 30 countries, including short, medium and full-length features, documentaries, animated films, and fiction films. The Festival puts on quite a show, year after year!
