One night a man cannot sleep.
He'd like to hug the pretty girl sleeping beside him, but his left arm prevents him from doing comfortably.
Fortunately he has a workshop full of tools. Including a brand new table saw.

A film about love, desire, and loneliness.
A film in which we let ourselves lulled by the melancholy sound of a violin at a steady radial vein rhythm that empties onto the linoleum.

Biographie

Mathieu Handfield

Even though he has a degree in acting from the Cegep of St–Hyacinthe, Mathieu Handfield is very fond of writing and directing. He is the author of two novels published by the Éditions de Ta Mère, and has received the award of the best french novel at the Expozine gala 2009. Mathieu has now written and directed five short films, and his first, Zombie : le documentaire, has been very successful around the world, especially in Spain, where it won the public's award in the Cryptshow festival.

Romance is the second part of a trilogy about love, a project on which Mathieu Handfield is currently working with the Productions Lombric.

About the festival

A true celebration of cinema and all its forms of expression, the Festival welcomes over 100 productions from some 30 countries, including short, medium and full-length features, documentaries, animated films, and fiction films. The Festival puts on quite a show, year after year!
