A couple of journalists fight to remain true to themselves despite the repressions in suffocating Belarus after the protests of 2020. The film is inspired by the real life of a young journalist, Katsiaryna Andreyeva, who is currently serving her 8 years sentence in a Belarusian prison.

Biographie

Mara Tamkovich

A Polish-Belorussian director and screenwriter, Mara studied journalism at Warsaw University and filmmaking at the Warsaw Film University and the Wajda School. As a director, Mara focuses on social issues, inexorably linked to today's reality. Her short films have been screened at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, and have won awards at the 58th IFF Chicago, 47th IFF Gdynia, IFF Listapad Minsk, New Directors | New Films, and others. Under The Grey Sky is her first feature film. Mara is also a member of the Polish Filmmakers Association and the Belarusian Academy of Independent Cinema.
