Winter 1940. The Second World War sow devastation in Europe, but in Montreal, in Saint-Henri district, hope reborn. The war announces the end of the economic depression that plunged the area into poverty. Florentine Lacasse works at the "Quinze-cents" restaurant. Her salary contribute to sustains her too large family. Jean Levesque won Florentine, but her poor condition doesn't fit a young ambitious who finaly try to push her into the arms of a friend, Emmanuel Létourneau. On the background of the life of the Lacasse family, the film tells the passionate story of the love triangle.

Biographie

Claude Fournier

Claude Fournier began his career as a journalist. He then directed to the documentary film, first at the National Film Board of Canada then Time-Life, New York. Back in Montreal, in the sixties, he founded his own production company, Pink Films Inc., and since then devoted himself, as writer and director, in fiction films for the big screen and television. Since 2007, Claude Fournier directs with Marie-José Raymond Elephant, Quebec cinema memory philanthropic project of Quebecor inc. which aims to digitize, restore and make accessible the whole heritage of the Quebec feature films.
