Isabelle Brodeur flies to Vietnam, native land of her adopted daughter, Clara. She meets Clara's nanny and finds Thuy Nguyen, her biological mother, who works as a tour guide. Torn between fear and a profound desire to meet this woman, Isabelle enrols in a private guided tour offered by Thuy. In this breathtaking road trip, Isabelle discovers her daughter’s country through the eyes of the woman who gave her life. The two women reveal themselves to one other along the way.

Biographie

Jean-Philippe Duval

Jean-Philippe Duval, Quebec director and screenwriter, signed up for four seasons of the États humains TV series between 2004 and 2007. At the same time, he conceptualized, co-directed and co-produced the series Martin sur la route with Martin Picard, the chef of Pied de cochon. From 2012 to 2018, he directed Unité 9, for which he received multiple awards, as well as the series Toute la vie (2019). He is also behind several documentaries. He directed Matroni et moi (1999), Dédé à travers les brumes (2009) and Chasse-galerie : la légende (2015) among many others for the cinema. 14 jours 12 nuits is his fourth feature film.
