They called him Beaupré the Giant. The "5th tallest man of all times" marked his era with his 8 feet 3 inches and his feats of strength. Died too young and far from home in St. Louis (Missouri) in 1904 at the age of only 23, his journey as a phenomenon was only just beginning. In an astonishing series of twists and turns, the Giant's mummified body will take more than 80 years to find its way home.

Biographie

Alain Fournier

Alain Fournier has scripted and directed several short fiction and animation films that have won awards at festivals and been broadcast around the world. He is particularly interested in Supernatural Drama genre by staging worlds and atmospheres that stand out visually. On the animation side, he has constantly explored with multiple hybrid methods, moving from puppetry to 3D. GÉANT BEAUPRÉ is a new animated short film, mixing stopmotion and 3D this time, and recounting the life and death of the famous French-Canadian giant.

About the festival

A true celebration of cinema and all its forms of expression, the Festival welcomes over 100 productions from some 30 countries, including short, medium and full-length features, documentaries, animated films, and fiction films. The Festival puts on quite a show, year after year!
